What's Going On
I spent some time "Seeding" Servers with my alts. The Lunar Festival is a great time to put alts up and get Flight Paths. Then when or if you want an alt on that server, then they already have the flight paths.
I wanted a Ravager on my Blood Elf. I figured out a way to get my Horde Character into the Alliance starting area. All it took was some trial and error and some dying.

Pril & Zee – Blood Elf Twins Pril = Hunter LW/Skinner Zee = Rogue JC/Miner • Level 22/21 • Grinding for Leather in Southern Barrens. Quite successful, Thunder lizards and their yummy tails, thunderhawks and hyenas. Pril got her cooking to 125 and got the book from Aprillian • And of course Pril got her Ravager from Bloodmyst Isle
Creed & Ctraltwow Blood Elf Priest Tailor/Enchanter and Orc Warrior Miner/Blacksmith • Level 11/11 Aprillian Main Troll Hunter Miner/Skinner • Level 54 o Ran out to Shadowsprey o Did the trial run to Bloodmyst Isle Rilfire Tauren Hunter LW/Skinner • Level 48 • Grinding Scalding Whelplings for leather with Treshel
Treshel Orc Hunter Miner/JC • Level 44, dinged in the Badlands • Grinding Scalding Whelplings for leather with Rilfire • Did some jewelcrafting, got a bunch of jewels prospecting horded iron ore. Hard to get tin for bronze
Theeo Orc Rogue Alch/Herb • Level 19 • Hanging out in Silvermoon
Sherinna Troll Priest Alch Ench • Level 14 • Still sitting in Ratchet
Bankers/Sellers • Trex Draenei Hunter Skinner/Herbalist o Level 12 o Dax Connection in the Vault of Lights o Blood Elf Bandits Masks

The Dragonhawk Hatchling Connection • Aprillian sends 4 gold pieces to Creed – costs 4 gold 30 c • Creed buys 9 Hatchlings @ 45 silver a piece and mails them back to Aprillian 45s 30c X 9 = 4 g 7s 7c • Aprillian puts them up for auction to April on the Horde/Alliance AH o Aprillian puts them up for 25s, pays a 3s 12c deposit, the AH cut is 3s75c so Aprillian receives 24s 37c . So basically that’s 3s75c x 9 = 33s 75c • Trex puts them up on Alliance AH o

No. 1. What’s Going On Observations • Dranei men sound like Worf’s father, is there a connection? Saw the Drainei mounts, very cool • Tip: If you are near and heading back to the inn you hearthed from and you need just one more space in your bag, you can destroy the stone and get a new one at the end
House Cleaning • I took all of my alts to their banks and cleaned out their banks and bags. You probably have some stuff that you needed to get your craft up to the current level, put what you don’t need on AH. Make it a fairly reasonable price. If it sells, you’ll have some more money, if it doesn’t, it will be mailed back to you, where you can keep it in your mailbox until you find another alt who needs it or you can use it, or sell it. This does mean you won’t know when you get new mail. But for me, that’s only important on my Banker alts to see if I sold something for big money on AH. You should already be sending all of your big AH stuff to your Banker alt. • Cleared Out Quest. o Looked for Quests that were collecting quests and completed as many as I could o Deleted grey quests unless I needed the rep Vendor in Alterac Valley – Rizz Loosebolt- I like those out of the way vendors, he can’t repair but he can buy the vendor trash so you can stay out farming a little longer. He’s in the area where the little fake cave is, it’s called Slaughter Hollow, directly opposite the opening to Crushbridge Hold.
Tried LOTR Stress Test • The character creation is limited because it reflects only what was in the books/movie human –mf, elf –mf, hobbit –mf, and dwarf male. No dwarf females because I guess they weren’t in the book. But how do you get dwarf males without females? I also think you should be a big fan of the game before playing. I read the first book, the Hobbit, and of course the LOTR series is set after that. I couldn’t get into the movies at all. • Some people were complaining that it looked like WoW, which is ridiculous. There’s a set formula for any MMORPG, people were probably saying WoW looked like EQ • I didn’t stay on the server very long, but it looked pretty.

You Tube WoW endorsed Video contest,http://www.guildlaunch.com/ • Great for Guilds, even better for people with alts. I stumbled onto this on Digg.com. It sounded promising, so I decided to give it a try. I was really impressed. For free you get a very well put together and customizable site that includes forums, roster, a calendar and a wiki. • With a minimum amount of effort, I made a pretty nice site: http://ctrlaltwow.guildlaunch.com/ • It uses an addon on called Guild Launch Profiler http://support.guildlaunch.com/guild/library/535/GuildLaunchProfilerCURRENT.zip
• There are several steps to adding characters that must be done on a regular basis or the info will be outdated. Once the addon is loaded, you have to right click your avatar pic and select Create Guild Launch Profile for each of your characters. If you want to include information from the bank, you have to take that character to the bank, likewise you have to go to the stable master to get all of your pet info. Also open all of your tradeskills, you’ll see a listing of what you can make scroll by in chat. This creates a file called GuildLaunchProfiler.lua which is located in "World of Warcraft/WTF/Account////SavedVariables/GuildLaunchProfiler.lua">. You upload this file on your Character Page and it uploads a whole lot of information up to the website about your character. Now you can easily see the skills, levels, items the character can craft even when you aren’t online. It also conveniently provides a direct link that you can later use to get
No. 3. Alt Round UpPril & Zee • Zee has been helping Treshel with her JC.
Pril & Zee • Zee has been helping Treshel with her JC.Creed & Ctraltwow • Creed has been disenchanting the lower level JC that Treshel has been making. He put some of the Strange Dust on AH and made some gold Aprillian • Working on cleaning out her Quest Log, picked up the Errand for Apothecary Zinge - (Step 1) quest in UC while doing the Valentine’s day quest. This quest requires a trip to Tanaris. Which was great because she had the Wastewander Justice - (Step 1) Quest undone, so she took Rilfire with her. • Also got another coin from the Elder in Un Goro Crater
Rilfire • Made several Comfortable Hats with the recipe Illia sent her. Ilia paid 16 gold on AH for the recipe, but she’s already sold 2 at 3 gold so I should make my money back. Rilfire did the Errand for Apothecary Zinge - (Step 1) and Wastewander Justice - (Step 1) with Aprillian, both she and Aprillian made some serious gold just vendoring the stuff dropped and the money from the Wastewander Bandits and Thieves.
Treshel • She made the change, dropped Herbalism and took up Jewel Crafting. I spent some time trying to get the gem and mining bags for her. You have to go to Outland to get them. I was in Silvermoon when a 260ish level Jewel Crafter who was upper 60’s was asking what level everyone was. I asked him about the bags, he had one but didn’t realize it was BOE. Then he mentioned he was having a time with JC because he couldn’t find gold. Using Character viewer, I found a stack of gold ore and a stack of gold bars and offered them to him if he would go to Outland and get the bags. Turned out there was only one mining bag and he didn’t realize I wanted the Jewel as well, but I got the mining bag for the two stacks of gold, which was good. • Also cleaned out some Quest stuff and managed to solo the Apothecary Zinge - (Step 1) Quest and the Into the Field - (Step 3) in Tanaris and did the timed quest Tanaris Field Sampling “Acquire acceptable samples for 8 basilisks, 8 hyenas, and 8 scorpions. Bring the testing kit back to Chief Engineer Bilgewhizzle in Gadgetzan before the power source runs out.” Which I loved.
Theeo • Didn’t do much this week
Sherinna • Level 14 Just did the Lunar Festival Quest – She got the 2 for 1 deal with the rockets I tried to do it with all my alts just in case I decide to play them down the road. She had 6 coins so she got the dress and a pack of dumplings
Bankers/Sellers • Trex o April got 10 Dragonhawk Hatchlings to him o Actually got to Darnassus and made Dolanaar his home. Did some quests there • Illia o Didn’t sell a lot of moths / the market is down. Did sell a pair of Ogre Kickers Treshel picked up from the two headed Ogre in Crushbridge Hold –d. o Sold a Comfortable Hat for 3 gold, see where that goes. Someone on I think it was Thotbott said he sold them for 1.5 gold.

Just wanted to say thanks for the tip on getting flight paths via the Lunar Festival celebration. Out of all the WOW podcasts you're the only one that mentioned this. I just sent out all of my lower level alts to get the flight paths they could.
Again thanks much and keep the podcasts coming!

I am enjoying doing this podcast, even though I don’t get a whole lot of feedback. I’m almost at 2800 downloads, so someone must be listening. No matter what, it’s a great learning experience. I also want to mention something cool that happened to me a few weeks ago.

Lunar Festival I don’t know about you, but I spent the weekend running my alts from city to city to pick up ancestry coins. While it might sound boring, it was actually quite enjoyable. Some alts got new flight paths and all the reputation points were well worth it.
• Sometimes I only need 4 fireworks and 1 cluster bomb/got credit for 2 each time.
• I did mostly the ones I could easily access and I tried to do it without going online. I couldn’t find the guy in the Hinterland, but I took Aprillian L57H
• When opening the rest of your adoration packages, shift click to see what’s inside. The box of chocolate makes great buffs and are transferable in the package. You can hit esc and close the package back up and then mail it to an alt that can use it.

• Pril L20 with 5 bars to go/Zee L20 and 1/3
• Zee can prospect iron, he is getting some nice gems and storing them in his 20 slot fancy gem bag
• Pril is 147 on LW and 186 on skinning. Oh she was fishing in Ratchet while they were waiting for the boat to Booty Bay when an Alliance Warrior, a level so high she couldn’t see, started fishing in the same school of Blackmouth. The funny thing was there was another school right where the ship docks. But of course if I could have stolen fish from an Alliance character, I would have done the same thing. So I got three of the fish and she got the last one, then I went to the other school and the boat came, but I knew I had enough time to fish the one more time before the boat would leave and I caught one more and then Pril and Zee hopped on the boat. The Alliance chick was with a friend, two blonde human bimbos, LOL.
Creed & Ctraltwow
• Creed went to get the Dragon Hawk Hatchlings, BE’s get a discount. I had sent Ctraltwow to get them and they were 50s, for Creed it’s 45s, after 9, that’s a free Hatchling.
• Picked up the RFC quest [15D] Testing an Enemy's Strength and [16D] Searching for the Lost Satchel while at TB

Grab flight paths
Pull mobs
Keep repaired
Greyed out items can be sold – white items maybe be sold on AH
DOT need to bedone once
Mobs are color coded
Everything is color coded
Upgrade your skills, usually at even numbers
Resting – return to an inn or capital city
Kill first Loot after – loot stays around
After you die, you have trun on your tracking stuff
You can change the keys (binding) to suit your needs. Auto run is clear
Up until level 10 there’s no real punishment for accepting return to life
Practice fighting unarmed against lower levels, maybe in a quest you missed – Pril and Zee did at level 14 Vanish the Betrayers it’s a level 7 but we wanted
Sometimes manufactured stuff sells more than the materials – linen bandages
You can outrun some mobs – they have a limited area of “patrol”
All Races are not created equal, all professions are not created equal – find one that fits
Keep space open in your inventory for quest items – get bags as fast as you can
You can jump over some things by pressing the space bar
Ask a question twice. I asked the other day how to get to the Aurestyt myst from a dranei I met in Stormwind

Sunday Jan 21, 2007
Ctrl Alt WoW Episode 006 – Were you prepared January 20, 2007 Segment I. What’s Going On A. Can I have your attention please - B. Installing and running Burning Crusade – success C. My train was late into Chicago, Amtrak was nice, they put us up in a hotel, but that meant I wouldn’t be getting home on Monday night as I planned. I would have had just enough time to get in line at Ebgames and pick up the 2 copies I had reserved. So Sunday night I’m stuck in Chicago trying to figure out how to get my copies of BC. I would be on the train for almost 24 hours once I left Chicago Monday night, so there would be no way to get it. Could I ask my husband to go to Ebgames Monday night and stand in line? I don’t think so. No. 1. Very very painless. The installation took went pretty fast. Four disks, a 163 mb patch, then a 4.3 mb patch and then that opening screen No. 2. I started a blood elf and of course the starting area was jam packed. But there was no lag and it was like Time Square on New Year’s Eve. People were dancing and flirting and laughing to try out all the new emotes. D. I was able to mail items to my Burning Crusade character and invite her to the guild from a character on the non updated side. E. I don’t have an alt over 55, so no Outlands for me. I was excited about getting my 47 Hunter Leatherworker over 300. I went to the Tribal Leatherworker trainer in Strangethorn Vale and picked up some new recipes but it turns out to go over 300, she has to go to Outland and find a Grand Master Trainer in, yep you guessed it, Outland F. Burning Crusade – A success in my bookSegment II. WoW News A. Topping the 8 million mark B. nSegment III. Alt Round Up – A. Who’s Doing what No. 1. I’ve been mostly busy with the twins, Zee and Pril, brother and sister Blood Elves, same coloring and hair. Zee male rogue and Pril female hunter. They’ve been leveling mostly in Eversong Woods. One thing I like to do is sometimes grab the first profession handy. This way they can begin to make stuff and then unlearn it and learn the ones they really want. So Pril got alchemy from that alchemist at the party at Saltheril’s Haven and Zee got herbalism there as well. So he was able to pick up some bloodthistle. He had already gotten Jewelcrafting from the trainer in the inn in Falconwing Square in the Ruins of Silvermoon. I got them both up to 10 and Pril got pet taming, there’s a quest at Farstrider Retreat, not to be confused with Farstrider Square, which is in Silvermoon. No. 2. Prilfire got the guild and turned it over to Aprillian (was able to get Aprillian again on Alleria) and she designed the new tabard, an octopus representing the many alts. No. 3. Prilfire made a couple of things, ironfeather No. 4. Pryl in Westfall No. 5. Illia making money – No. 6. Sent a 3 storage alts to Silvermoon City via the Translocator in UC – Aranxcha, Miasha and Theeo (actually Theeo’s a level 17 but he also had all the cooking supplies for leveling cooking) . They were able to help better leather pants and shirts, some weapons and supplies. No. 7. Sent Rillia my level 36 Rogue Blacksmith/Enchanter to give a couple of boosts. Particularly speed to boots. But it’s kind of tricky with two accounts. Rillia is on the account with Zee so she could enchant Pril’s stuff, but not Zee. Zee’s stuff had to be traded to Pril, echanted by Rillia and then traded back to Zee. Ooh and Rillia had over 30 bars of silver so she gave a bunch to Pril to give to Zee and now Zee No. 8. So now Zee and Pril are pretty set up, nothing to special but a few enchants and nice gear and they are out questing heading towards Ghostland, a few quests in Tranquillium and then back to Silvermoon City when I decided Pril needs Ressan the Needler as a pet. So they both went through the Translocater and out into Trisfal Glades where they picked up some quests in Brill and headed into the forest. The first time Pril died trying to tame Ressan and Zee ran away so they wouldn’t have to kill him. Then when she came back, she tamed him the second time and now she’s been hunting with them doing the Brill quests. I’ve got pix on the web site http://ctrlaltwow.blogspot.com B. Ideas/Discussion No. 1. If you can’t have two accounts, just be sure to send anything you might need enchanted to your enchanter before you equipped it if it’s bind on equip No. 2. I was able to get an alt from sunstrider Isle to Fairbreeze Village at level 1 without her coming in to contact with any mobs. Of course a lot of this had to do with all of the activity. So right now might be a good time to get a bank in Silvermoon city. Also, with the translocater from UC to Silvermoon City, an undead bank might work as well. No. 3. Create follow macro and place in the same number slot for every following character. Have the following alt complete the no. of collection quest first, that way the leading one can still identify the quest drops
Segment IV. Server Shout out A. Alleria No. 1. To Kokoh B. Silverhand No. 1. Server splitup
Segment V. In The House – Discussing what is going on in our real lives that has been affected by playing World of Warcraft A. Lots of people taking off from work and school B. I almost panicked when I realized my train was going to be delayed in to Chicago. I was constantly watching the times we arrived and I had to hold back on pestering the train crew. Then I started calculating taking the bus to New York, which would have been about a 24 hour bus ride and then catching a train from there, just to get home by Mon night.
Segment VI. Favorite Places/Things about WoW A. Eversong Woods No. 1. It’s really pretty, I love two sides to Silvermoon City Segment VII. Email – A. See below. B. Still looking for some No. 1. Segment VIII. Closing Thoughts A. Burning Crusade No. 1. A couple of good reviews on iTunes No. 2. Trying to stay focus but would like some more feedback
Hi, i like the show a lot. I have been playing WoW for about 7 months and have gotten hooked on it just like everyone else, but it had become kind of a vice for me because it eats in to my free time so much. I was on the verge of deleting my level 60 and all of my alts and leaving the game for good. But on the day that i was going to do it i met a level 18 warlock, named Yosie, in west fall while playing on my priest alt for the last time (or so i thought). She sent me a random group invite and asked me if i would like to quest together, so i decided to use my 60 for one last good deed before it got deleted and got on Nidus (my 60 main). I helped her finish her quests in west fall, since I am a fire mage this was an easy task for me (AoE FTW). We had fun and chatted about our real lives and about WoW, it turned out that she had only been playing for 2 weeks. In return for my good deed she gave me a guild invite to , which is the guild I am in now and its the best guild i have ever been in, and i was very grateful. The next day we grouped again and had even more fun together, I helped her get her Sucubis quest done and had fun joking around and talking in the party chat. Sadly Yosei deleted her character, but the fun that i had those 2 days made me realize that WoW is more then a video game its a social experiment and that i was part of a global community. So i made a New Years resolution to keep playing WoW but in moderation, so instead of deleting my 60 i just deleted my alts. I enjoy your podcast and i hope you don't get discouraged, your part of a global community too and you should make sure your voice is heard even if its not the loudest.

No. 4. Rilfire headed to Undercity to purchase a Guild Charter from the Guild Master there. She’s going to start Ctrl Alt WoW. Aprillian was going to do it, but she’s stuck in the transfer queue. This means, for those who don’t already know, after she purchases the Guild Charter from the Guild Master for 10 silver she has to find 9 other unique accounts to sign the charter and then she’ll have a guild. By unique I mean only one alt from any account can sign, so you can’t make a guild by having you and your nine alts sign it. So, if you don’t have 9 people all ready to join your guild, it involves running around asking total strangers to sign, usually you offer them 50 silver. Some will ask for more, some will do it for free. Once you have the 9 names, you go back to the Guild Master and register your guild and then you will have a guild with guild chat and you will be the Guild leader. Most of the people you’ve asked to sign your charter will leave. Which is okay, because I just wanted the guild because I like having all of my alts in the same guild because it makes it easier to keep track of them and automatically makes their names come up in the mailbox to entry line when you start typing the first few letters.
B. Ideas/Discussion
No. 1. Your First Alt. An alt, by definition, is a backup to your main character. What generally happens is you make a character and run around learning how to do stuff. Then you either start running out of space in your bags and inventory, or you need something you can’t make and don’t want to pay a lot for on the Auction House, or you want to try another class. In fact, you might find one of your alts becomes your main.
